The presentation is designed to introduce the Israel-Palestine conflict to those who have little prior knowledge of this important current issue. It is not meant to be a debate.

QPR: Suicide Prevention Training

suicideOn Thursday, Sept. 25 @ 7 pm, there will be free suicide prevention training at the Main Library. This hour and a half workshop is designed to teach people QPR, an evidence-based suicide prevention strategy that teaches risk factors and warning signs of suicide and how to help save a life using 3 steps: Question, Persuade, and Refer.

Sunday Speaker Series–Beginning Geneaology

sundayspeakerseriesOn Sunday, September 14 @ 2 pm, we will be kicking off our Sunday Speaker Series with Susan Henry, local Genealogist. She is the Librarian of the Clinton County Genealogy Society located in the Clinton County History Center. She is the editor of the society’s newsletter, and a member of the two lineage societies–First Families of Clinton County and Civil War Families of Clinton County. Participants will learn about primary and secondary proof, Internet information that is reliable and true, and library and local resources useful for genealogy research. You will begin to fill out a 5 generation family chart.
