Sunday Speaker Series–Beginning Geneaology

sundayspeakerseriesOn Sunday, September 14 @ 2 pm, we will be kicking off our Sunday Speaker Series with Susan Henry, local Genealogist. She is the Librarian of the Clinton County Genealogy Society located in the Clinton County History Center. She is the editor of the society’s newsletter, and a member of the two lineage societies–First Families of Clinton County and Civil War Families of Clinton County. Participants will learn about primary and secondary proof, Internet information that is reliable and true, and library and local resources useful for genealogy research. You will begin to fill out a 5 generation family chart.

Computer Basics Class

computerclasspicOn Monday, September 8 @ 6 pm, there will be a Computer Basics Class held at the Main Library. This two hour hands-on class is for people with little to no computer experience. There will be lots of mouse practice in this class! Other topics include turning on and shutting down a computer, basic computer terms, and beginning windows management. Laptops will be provided to use during this class.

Classes are limited to 8 students. Registration is required. Please call (937) 382-2417 x26 or sign up at the Reference Desk.
