Summer Reading Programs for Teens

Teen Programs – Grades 5-12*

PJ’s and Anime – Tuesday, May 28, 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Dress in your PJ’s or other comfy clothes and watch an Anime movie. Plushies are also welcome. Snacks, drinks, and a popcorn bar will be provided for otakus and weeaboos. Click here to view the trailer.

Flicky Friday – July 12, 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Watch a flick at the library, and enjoy snacks and a popcorn bar. The movie will be voted on first, and starts at 2:15 p.m.

Beach Party – Saturday, July 20, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Aloha! Party at the Library Beach; no sand or waves included. There will be snacks, frozen drinks, and some fun party games. Relax, sit back, and wrap up summer with one last party and hula.

 Manic Fanatic Mondays – 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Embrace your inner nerd, geek, fan girl/fan boy, etc. Cosplay is encouraged.

 DIY nights – Tuesdays, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
June 4      Make a painted galaxy charm for a bracelet, necklace, or key chain.
June 25    Make sidewalk foam and paint masterpieces outside the library.
July 2       Prepare to get messy with an outside paint pour.
July 23     Make your own galaxy star dream catcher.

*S.T.E.M. Explorers for Grades 6-12 – Tuesdays, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
June 11    Ice Cream and Frozen Science. Make homemade ice cream and see what happens when ordinary objects undergo extreme levels of cold.

July 9      NASA Coding & S’mores Oven. Make some s’mores without a campfire and learn the basics of the coding that got humans into the final frontier.
